I'm concerned that I might not be able to find a decent job when I get out of my 4 year program, so I'm considering graduate school as an option.
Do people with this degree do work outside of academic research or teaching?
The previous answer is a joke. I have both my bachelors and masters degrees in Computer Science, and work as a software engineer for a major defense contractor. I'm well on my way towards working my way into a software architecture/systems engineering position, and my job prospects look only better and better over the next 10-15 years. If you can find a job that will pay for you to get your masters part-time, that's ideal. But either way, getting the masters pays.
What are the starting salaries for a student graduating with a Masters in Computer Science? What are all the possible jobs available? Like Software Engineer, etc. What are the minimum, maximum and average salaries that a entry level graduate can get?
Read in yahoo news that average salary for Software Engineers is 80K. Can someone also elaborate on that?
depending on what specific area of the industry you are going to work in, what the location would be, if it is a consulting job, what school you graduated from, etc etc, this can vary a lot. i would say you can start at $55k to $60k per yr
I have done my BS in Computer Science US university….I am getting a package of $60,000 per annum? If I go for a MS in Computer Science, How much hike can I get?
Good question, I would like to know as well.
