please tell me about where to pursue an mba including its cost.
It is not mere good, it is excellent. It helps you to enter into job two years early and you will become senior in two years!
You can choose any MBA programme part-time in evening colleges or on-line from a recognised university (cost is competitive nowadays)
I want to be able to create financial models using C++ and java for trading purposes. I'll be getting my undergraduate degree in Business Economics and have enough accounting units for the CPA. I work as a Jr. Staff Accountant right now (which blows). I can get an MBA in IT with ease or take on the high switching costs of a MS in computer science.
This is what the two programs offer: (both are from state universities)
MBA IT: SQL, ERP, ORACLE, C++ or JAVA, Data modeling.
MS CS: Shit load of more math, C++ or JAVA, Software Engineering, Genetic Algorithms, Computer Hardware/Engineering topics.
I like both econ and IT/CS and would not mind doing either as a career. Like maybe a business analyst, IT consultant, or developer.
It sounds like you should go for your MBA but you will have to take math there too or you will never be prepared for the programming classes you need.
I have just appeared for TYBSc ComputerScience course..I am keen to study further but am totally abstract about the courses available..I have also a good hand on GRAPHICS and ANIMATION apart from SOFTWARE PROGRAMMING..I am confused as to an MBA degree would do me good or will it be different from the computer field..
An MBA is a general degree designed to improve skills in business. There are usually several options that can be chosen. Mine covered Marketing, Financial & Management Accounting, Organisational Behaviour, Operations Management, International Business, etc. Computers were covered but only as a small part of the course. (I also have a BSc degree in Physics & El;ectronic Engineering and had been working in the IT field for some time – so I found this part of the course trvially simple.)
I would advise anyone thinking of doing an MBA to have some experience in business first. The better business schools insist on this.
Whether it is suitable for you depends on your interests& aptitudes.
CSU Long Beach provides an AACSB accredited 48-unit MBA Program. Additionally, as one of the few California member-schools in the nation-wide Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), the MBA program is at the forefront of refining graduate education. There are several MBA Program options available to students including the Self-Paced Evening MBA, the Fully Employed MBA (FEMBA) Program, and the One-Year Accelerated MBA Program.

Is it good decision as I do not have any financial experience or background ? I mean I am just tired of being a S/W Engineer and move on to a more challenging job with more pay. Serious answers only please.
Many MBA and MSF( Master of Science in Finance) programs welcome engineers because they typically have good backgrounds in mathematics. However, I would make sure you are really interested in this career field before spending another two years in school. Obviously, you will need to take courses in general business but that is usually part of the program anyhow. Also consider that it is not a given that you will make more money. BTW, I am a professor of finance.
I have a two year work experience..Would project management be a good option?
MBA finance.
