This tells you that a career in Computer Science is very rewarding and if you really love computers and math, it'll be fun.

Some major companies that you might work for are Microsoft, IBM, and Google. There are hundreds of companies that need individuals that have knowledge of computer science/information system because without them, the future of technology might come to a halt.

IMPIT program is meant for foreign students from universities having some contact with the University of Joensuu. The program offers a nice way to get international master degree in computer science in less than two years. The prerequisite is that you already have a B.Sc. level education with some background in Computer Science courses included.

Also, since programs need to cover every step, you and your friends should test each other with scenarios for which step by step instructions are given (as though they were being written for someone who has absolutely no idea how to do the job) and you try to catch each other out over misleading information being given. We were given this exercise in high school and one scenario was washing a dog and one of the mistakes from a group who thought they had done very well, was that it sounded like they wanted the dog hairs fastened to the fence instead of the dog. Here’s an example of the sort of thing I mean; the instructions come first followed by possible interpretations in brackets:

Catch the dog. (Is someone going to throw it to me?)
Wet the hair thoroughly. (Whose hair – mine?)
Rub shampoo through the hair.
Rinse the shampoo out of the hair. (Rinse it with what? Vinegar?)
Tie it to the fence until it dries. (Tie the hair to the fence? The shampoo?)

And they aren’t boring, as you can see – we had a hilarious time with these exercises. They also exercise some creative thinking which is good because you also can need creativity when trying to come up with solutions to program.
