On the Stanford application, it asks for a recommendation from two teachers in core subject areas. In my case, I will be using a science teacher and a math teacher. So, am I allowed to use my AP CS teacher for the science rec? My school gives us some sort of “technology” credit for taking the class, not science. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated!
AP Computer Science is one of the most challenging classes you can take, so I think a recommendation from that teacher would bode very well for you. I'm not sure that it would be considered a true "science," though, and since the class is a bit math-oriented you might be better off asking your history or English teacher to write the second letter of recommendation instead. My instinct says that it would probably be okay, but I'd hate to steer you in the wrong direction. Why don't you call Stanford and ask? I called them with a few questions regarding the arts supplement & they were totally helpful. Their number is: (650) 723-2091.
Their email address is: admission@stanford.edu

Sorry I couldn't give you a more definitive answer. Good luck!!!!
